Frequently Asked Questions

What services are provided?

-          Consultation: We offer complimentary 15-minute phone or video consultations to determine if a speech and language evaluation is appropriate for your family. You will have the opportunity to discuss concerns and ask questions in a commitment-free setting.

-          Evaluations: A comprehensive evaluation will allow us to get more in-depth information about your child’s abilities, strengths, and challenges. This information will help us to develop an individualized plan of care to best support your child and family if appropriate.

-          Treatment: We make speech and language therapy fun for your child and convenient for your family. Therapy sessions are designed to meet the specific needs and interests of your child while providing home programs/activities to facilitate progress and success outside of therapy.

-          Parent Coaching: We LOVE doing parent coaching with families!  Parents are always the “experts” about their child and are usually the ones who spend the most time with the child. We love helping parents understand how they can support and grow their child’s language skills throughout the day and in everyday activities.  We understand that everyone is busy!  We want all children to be able to communicate the best they can across all environments.  *Parent coaching is available to anyone in the United States.

What takes place during an evaluation?

Speech and language evaluations are scheduled conveniently at your home in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child's communication skills.

Gestalt Language Processors (children who communicate via scripting and delayed echolalia) are evaluated via language samples, parent questionnaires, family/teacher interviews, and observations.

Evaluations of analytic language processors include standardized assessments, clinical observations, and parent input.
